US VISA DONE!!!
Ives just got back from Hermosillo this morning with very good news...he got his US Visa! This means that he can fly with me and Matteo through the States to get to Canada. Before he had to fly direct to Canada from Mexico City and could not even transfer planes in the States. So this will make travelling a whole lot cheaper and easier. He took a 12 hour bus there through the night, had the meeting, got the Visa, waited for everyone else on the bus, and came back home. I guess it was kinda sad because only half the people on the bus got the Visa. Ives said he had no problem at all. He picks it up Aug 1st. Everything is working out perfectly for us to come home together in August! We are all totally excited for everyone to see Matteo. We are just waiting for Matteo`s Canadian passport now. Hopefully that will be here the beginning of August as well. We will be home most likely around Aug 12 until Sept 11th. (cheap flights on that day...don`t understand why).
So that`s our exciting news. I tried to put a video of Matteo on here but I don`t think it worked. It`s been loading for like 10 min. I tried. Have a great week everyone!

Just wanted to share our excitement with everyone...we just received a letter from Canadian Immigration that I have been accepted to sponsor Ives to come to Canada. That is huge news because I was worried that I wouldn´t qualify because I might not make enough money....but I do! It also came back super fast. Now our papers get sent to Mexico City where they will decide if Ives qualifies. Everyone go out and celebrate for me!

Just to update everyone on all the things Matteo can do now. He is quite a smart boy....smarter (and cuter) than most i imagine.
he is finally starting to show some emotion! i can actually make him more happy now than the sensation of his own bowl movements do! it´s great! i can tell that it´s me making him smile because his eyes get all big and look right into mine. his eyes are still a mixture of green, grey, blue, and brown. at a month and half he weighed 5.85 kilos. (which is like 11 or 12 pounds). he is very long and pudgy. well...his legs, arms , and face are anyways. his tummy is getting a little rounder but not like daddy´s yet. he is a very happy boy and doesn´t fuss much at all. he also enjoys long walks on the beach and candle lit dinners.
Things are getting much easier as we quickly adapt to our new life. I feel free to come and go now as I please...run errands...go for dinner...internet...etc. No longer feeling quarentined just to the house. Last night Sally, Meghan, and Daniel (two American friends/coworkers) came over for supper. Daniel made enchiladas and I made a chips a´hoy dessert..right out of the box. Then Ives´ whole family popped by for a visit. So we had quite the little apartment full.
That´s about all for now. Gonna look up some more immigration stuff. Back to that again. Adios

40 days
Lots of new pictures...most were taken today...all except the last two. We´re having lots of fun with Sally. Spent the weekend at Estrella and now we are back in the city...sweatin away. Took Sally to Rosario on Sunday, a small town just 40 min away from the city. Stopped on the side of the road to buy some fruit...only to awake a hungry and stinky Matteo. No where else to change him or feed him but right in the middle of a Mexican ranchero family who were quietly enjoying their Sunday afternoon, sitting down in the field....picking fruit and drinking beer. It was either there in the shade or in an extremely hot car....so, had to do what I had to do. All the sacrifices I make for this little guy. my goodness!

This message is more for my brother. Matteo looks like you, Chris, when he farts or poos:) hehe. The reason is because he smiles and I think that when he smiles he looks like my brother.

Grande Matteito
I can´t believe how big Matteo is getting! His legs are so thick and chubby already! What a change in the last week or so. I will put more photos on in a few days. Sally is coming today so I probably won´t come back to internet for a bit. It is really really hot outside right now. I find myself wanting to go to the mall or to Walmart everyday because it´s so cool there. Matteo sweats so much! His head was soaked by the time we got to the grocery store the other day. pobrecito:(
He is finally sleeping more in the night and during the day. Last night everyone slept so good.
I hope to come home sometime in August for a couple weeks. I am starting to look at plane tickets on the internet right now. Hopefully something will work out! That´s about all for now. Adios!
