Matteo is here!
Matteo is finally here! We moved into our new apt last Wed, April 27th. That same night I started feeling cramps at like 11pm. I thought it was just the milkshake that I had eaten for supper but by 1 am I realized that it was a little more than that. On the way to the hospital I decided to go for the epidural....but my dr didn´t know that I had changed my mind. The young dr that was there at the hospital taking care of me was told not to give me any medication and he didn´´t listen to me when I told him to. So by the time I was fully dilated and ready to go my dr arrived and gave my the epidural 2 min before Matteo was born. In other words...i went thru the 8 hours of painful labour when I really wanted the drugs. I would never do that again. It was way worse than I ever expected. I thought that it wouldn´t be thhaaaaaaat bad because millions of women have done it completely natural before me. But it was thaaaat bad..,.and in the middle of delivery i vowed to adopt all future children. But the good news of the story is that Matteo was born at 7am, Thurs, April 28th and is totally healthy weighing just short of 8 pounds. He had tons of dark hair which is getting lighter every day. His eyes look brown to me..blue to ives´ family. I think they will be brown. His skin is a lot lighter in real life than in the pictures. (I will put pictures on in like a week or so....right now I have no time). He was real long and skinny. We went the dr yesterday and he has gained 2 pounds since delivery so that is good.
The last week has also been a lot harder than I ever expected. Thank goodness my mom has been here but I´ve really missed out on not being able to share our experience and all the excitement with all my friends and family:( It´s going to be harder to go the internet now too bc we live further away and these computers are so slow. So just be patient with me.
