Haven't done a quiz for a while. This one is generally not too bad. It also has fun sliders instead of tick boxes for your responses. But really, I should have just gone to bed instead.
Today I happened to come out at an INFP. Back in the day when I did the actual Myers-Briggs test, I'm pretty sure I was an INFJ with a borderline J-P rating.
I have a cold. It started last night ... I lay in bed with my throat on fire. I made it through work ok. In the last hour, the sneezing and congestion began. I'm sure it's viral. I'm not sure how I'm going to make it through tomorrow: a clinic plus four students following me around equals too much required talking for one sick girl.
Thanks to Tam, I now know I'm most like Callie.
You are very direct and sometimes that is a bit much for people to handle, but you just call it like you see it. Life's too short not to be lived to the fullest and if that scares some people, then who needs them? You're an all-or-nothing person, so people who can't commit have no place in your life. You deserve someone who loves and lives just as hard as you do.
Grey's Diagnosis
Apparently 68% is pretty darn good ... many of the results I found when googling only hover around 50%. Considering I'm not a, err, man, I really am not sure how to take my results. Needless to say, I think they would have been higher if I knew the cuts of beef a little better.
You scored a 68%; a C for Completely Boring.
Vanilla. That's all you are. Average, lukewarm, mediocre. Women hardly notice you, your job could go on without you and the world barely needs you. It's time to change your life. As Oliver Cromwell once said: "Make the iron hot by striking it."

Jan at TVFH took the What sex is your brain? quiz from BBC recently. I did it as well ... I scored a zero. Smack dab in the middle of male and female.
Take it for yourself.
My results
Angles: This task tested your ability to identify the angle of a line by matching it with its twin. This is a spatial task, which looks at how you picture space.
Your score: 16 out of 20Spot the difference: This task tested your ability to identify which objects changed position. You lost points, if you incorrectly identified objects.
Average score for men: 15.1 out of 20
Average score for women: 13.3 out of 20If you scored 13 - 17: You found this test neither hard nor easy. This suggests your brain has male and female traits when it comes to spatial ability.
Your score: 100%Hands
Average score for men: 39%
Average score for women: 46%If you scored between 67 - 100%: Those with a female-type brain generally score in this range. Your ability to remember where objects are may serve as an advantage to you when you're trying to find your way around places. You're more capable of recalling landmarks to get from one place to another.
You said your left thumb was on top when you clasped your hands together.Emotions and Systems: This task looked at whether you prefer to empathise or systemise.Left thumb on top: This suggests the right half of your brain is dominant. Some studies theorise that as a right brain dominant person, you may excel in visual, spatial and intuitive processes.
EmpathisingEyes: This task tested your ability to judge people's emotions.
Your empathy score is: 11 out of 20
Average score for men: 7.9 out of 20
Average score for women: 10.6 out of 20Empathisers are better at accurately judging other people's emotions and responding appropriately. If you scored 15 and above, you are very empathic and would be an ideal person to comfort people in a time of crisis. Women in general are better at empathising.
Systemising
Your systemising score is: 11 out of 20
Average score for men: 12.5 out of 20
Average score for women: 8.0 out of 20Systemisers prefer to investigate how systems work. A system can be a road map, flat pack furniture, or a mathematical equation – anything that follows a set of rules. A score of 15 and above suggests you're good at analysing or building systems. Men in general are better at systemising.
Your score: 6 out of 10Fingers: We asked you to measure your ring and index fingers.
Average score for men: 6.6 out of 10
Average score for women: 6.6 out of 10If you scored 4 - 6: Your result suggests you have a balanced female-male brain and find it neither easy nor difficult to judge people's emotions.
Your ratios came to:Faces: This task looked at how you rate the attractiveness of a series of faces. The images you looked at were digitally altered to create slight differences in masculinity.
Right Hand: 0.95
Left Hand: 0.93Average ratio for men: 0.982
Average ratio for women: 0.991It's thought that your ratio is governed by the amount of testosterone you were exposed to in your mother's womb. The ratio of the length of your index finger to the length of your ring finger is set for life by as early as three months after conception. Even during puberty, when we experience intensive hormonal changes, the ratio stays the same.
Men generally have a ring finger that is longer than their index finger, which gives them a lower ratio than women, whose ring and index fingers are usually of equal length. Studies have found that men and women with lots of brothers generally have more masculine finger ratios.
Your choices suggest you prefer more masculine faces.3D shapes: This task tested your ability to mentally rotate 3D shapes.Highly masculinised male faces possess more extreme testosterone markers such as a long, broad and lower jaw, as well as more pronounced brow ridges and cheekbones.
Interestingly, women's preferences are said to vary across the menstrual phase. A more masculine face is preferred during the 9 days prior to ovulation, when conception is most likely.
Your score: 12 out of 12Words: This task looked at your verbal fluency.
Average score for men: 8.2 out of 12
Average score for women: 7.1 out of 12If you scored 10 - 12: Are you an engineer or do you have a science background? People with these skills tend to score in this range. Past studies have concluded that people in this range have a more male brain.
Nearly a third of men who took this test got full marks, whereas less than 10 per cent of women managed the same.
Your score: you associated 6 word(s) with grey and you named 5 word(s) that mean happy. We are assuming that all the words you entered are correct.Ultimatum: This task asked you how you would divide money.
Average score for men: 11.4 words total
Average score for women: 12.4 words totalIf you produced 1 - 5 words: You are more of the strong, silent type with a male brain. You probably find it easier to express yourself in non-verbal ways, preferring action rather than words.
If you produced 6 - 10 words: Most people in this range have a female-type brain.
Women are said to use both sides of the brain when doing verbal tasks while men mainly use their left side. Studies have shown that girls develop vocabulary faster than boys. This difference in brain power is caused by levels of pre-natal testosterone.
If you had to split £50 with someone, you said you would demand £25So far on the Sex ID test, men have demanded 51.6% (£25.80) of the pot and women have demanded 51.0% (£25.50), on average.
Sex differences are small in this task. Demanding less than 60% of the pot (ie £30) is more typically female. Demanding more than 65% of the pot (ie £32.50) is more typically male.

Thanks to Caro, I found out essentially what I already knew (I'm not neurotic) ... although the "openness to experience section" (see quoted) made me wonder if that's really me (unemotional? overly imaginative? clam-like?) ... a somewhat recent comment/conversation makes me think perhaps it is.
Often you find the real world is too plain and ordinary for your liking, and you use fantasy as a way of creating a richer, more interesting world for yourself. You love beauty, both in art and in nature. Sometimes you become easily involved and absorbed in artistic and natural events. You tend not to express your emotions openly and are sometimes not even aware of your own feelings. Familiar routines are good, but sometimes you like to spice up your life with a bit of adventure or activity. As a person who is open-minded to new and unusual ideas, you love to play with and think about ideas. You also like to debate intellectual issues and often enjoy riddles, puzzles and brain teasers. You prefer the security and stability brought by conformity to tradition.

A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.
A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.
A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.
You scored better than half in Nerd, earning you the title of: Pure Nerd.
The times, they are a-changing. It used to be that being exceptionally smart led to being unpopular, which would ultimately lead to picking up all of the traits and tendences associated with the "dork." No-longer. Being smart isn't as socially crippling as it once was, and even more so as you get older: eventually being a Pure Nerd will likely be replaced with the following label: Purely Successful.

Now add up the total number of points.
OVER 60 POINTS:
Others see you as someone they should "handle with care."
You're seen as vain, self-centered and one who is extremely domineering.
Others may admire you, wishing they could be more like you, but don't always trust you, hesitating to become too deeply involved with you.
51 TO 60 POINTS:
Others see you as an exciting, highly volatile, rather impulsive personality; a natural leader, one who's quick to make decisions, though not always the right ones.
They see you as bold and adventuresome, someone who will try anything once; someone who takes chances and enjoys an adventure.
They enjoy being in your company because of the excitement you radiate.
41 TO 50 POINTS:
Others see you as fresh, lively, charming, amusing, practical and always interesting; someone who's constantly in the center of attention, but sufficiently well-balanced not to let it go to their head.
They also see you as kind, considerate, and understanding; someone who'll always cheer them up and help them out.
31 TO 40 POINTS :
Others see you as sensible, cautious, careful and practical.
They see you as clever, gifted, or talented, but modest. Not a person who makes friends too quickly or easily, but someone who's extremely loyal to friends you do make and who expect the same loyalty in return.
Those who really get to know you realize it takes a lot to shake your trust in your friends, but equally that it takes you a long time to get over it if that trust is ever broken.
21 TO 30 POINTS :
Your friends see you as painstaking and fussy.
They see you as very cautious, extremely careful, a slow and steady plodder.
It would really surprise them if you ever did something impulsively or on the spur of the moment, expecting you to examine everything carefully from every angle and then usually decide against it.
They think this reaction is caused partly by your careful nature.
UNDER 21 POINTS:
People think you are shy, nervous, and indecisive, someone who needs looking after, who always wants someone else to make the decisions and who doesn't want to get involved with anyone or anything!
They see you as a worrier who always sees problems that don't exist.
Some people think you're boring. Only those who know you well know that you aren't.

The results of your analysis show:
You plan ahead, and are interested in beauty, design, outward appearance, and symmetry.
You are a shy, idealistic person who does not find it easy to have relationships, especially intimate ones.
You are diplomatic, objective, and live in the present.
You are a talkative person, maybe even a busybody!

the other quizes I took were dumb. I didn't feel like listing my answers.
Jordon posted the results of a Meyers-Briggs type test on his site. Our whole class took one (an official sort of one that was much longer) in grade 5, and supposedly you never change personality types. So I took mine again and low and behold, still an INFJ.
Idealists (NF), as a temperament, are passionately concerned with personal growth and development. Idealists strive to discover who they are and how they can become their best possible self -- always this quest for self-knowledge and self-improvement drives their imagination. And they want to help others make the journey. Idealists are naturally drawn to working with people, and whether in education or counseling, in social services or personnel work, in journalism or the ministry, they are gifted at helping others find their way in life, often inspiring them to grow as individuals and to fulfill their potentials.
Counselors (INFJ) like you have an exceptionally strong desire to contribute to the welfare of others. As a result, you may find great personal fulfillment interacting with others to nurture their personal development. Indeed you can be a wonderful guide when it comes to helping individuals realize their full potentials.
I too decided to take the personality test (linked on Mark's blog).
Here are my results:
Your personality is actually determined by two personality sub-types: your primary, or dominant sub-type, and your secondary sub-type. You are a Chosen One which means you are a Golden / Seeker. Your primary sub-type is defined by "Golden" characteristics and your secondary sub-type is defined by "Seeker" characteristics.
That means you're warm, giving, knowing, and patient. Chances are you're not afraid to actively pursue your goals and dreams. As if all that weren't enough, you pretty much set the standard for emotional health by being filled with positive feelings and energy.
As thoughtful as you are, there's still a more spontaneous, adventure-seeking side of you. That combined with your ever-present curiosity leads to a particularly high energy level that people both envy, and want to have around them.
My results from a personality test ...
Introspective
Sensitive
Reflective
You come to grips more frequently and thoroughly with yourself and your environment than do most people. You detest superficiality; you'd rather be alone than have to suffer through small talk. But your relationships with your friends are very strong, which gives you the inner tranquility and harmony that you require. You do not mind being alone for extended periods of time; you rarely become bored.
Here's Leighton's quiz ... my results:
| "It is the chiefest point of happiness that a man is willing to be what he is." |
| You are Desiderius Erasmus! You have great love for others and will do just about anything to show it to them. You are tolerant and avoid confrontations, so people generally are drawn to you. You are more quiet and reserved in front of strangers, but around some people you open up. When things get tough, you like to meditate alone." |
But here is my favourite colour personality test of all time. My results change every time I take it (there goes the accuracy), but it's a lot o' fun. My results today:
Your Existing Situation
Avoids excessive effort and needs roots, security, and peaceful companionship.
Your Stress Sources
The tenacity and strength of will necessary to contend with existing difficulties has become weakened. Feels overtaxed, worn out, and getting nowhere, but continues to stand her ground. She feels this adverse situation as an actual tangible pressure which is intolerable to her and from which she wants to escape, but she feels unable to make the necessary decision.
Your Restrained Characteristics
Willing to participate and to allow herself to become involved, but tries to fend off conflict and disturbance in order to reduce tension.
Circumstances are restrictive and hampering, forcing her to forgo all joys and pleasures for the time being.
Your Desired Objective
Wants interesting and exciting things to happen. Able to make herself well-liked by her obvious interest and by the very openness of her charm. Over-imaginative and given to fantasy or day-dreaming.
Your Actual Problem
The tensions induced by trying to cope with conditions which are really beyond her capabilities, or reserves of strength, have led to considerable anxiety and a sense of personal (but unadmitted) inadequacy. She attempts to escape into a substitute world in which things are more nearly as she desires them to be.
