By way of introduction

I haven't had one of these posts for a while now: Reflections on internet dating relationships.

I was going to leave instructions for how to write a basic profile (grammar/spelling, be positive, tell the truth). I have seen a good many horrible profiles now that I am a secret agent for a certain site. I sleuth around enforcing the rules. If it says no names, email addresses or IM handles in your profile - well, there had better not be any. I will find you no matter how cleverly you think you may hide them.

Aside from the online perspective, I actually met someone the normal way. It's a little shocking to be sure. Remember those stories about benefactors sending letters to their friend across the country so that one could get a job, have free accommodations, meet their future spouse? Well, a dear friend did such a thing for me. A person she had met once at a wedding for a mere five minutes was provided my contact information so as to make an introduction. 'Twill be of interest to see how this one progresses.
