I'm thinking about getting a MacBook. Probably Pro.
I like digital photography. I'll probably be doing more and maybe even learn all those nifty features on my S3IS. Maybe even get a digital SLR one day.
The question I have relates to photo editing: Photoshop vs. Aperture? One vs. the other vs. both? Suggestions solicited.
They do very different things. Aperture (and it's little brother - iPhoto) are for photo organization and usual photo editing like red eye, white balance, cropping, etc. Photoshop can do anything else like paint out the random pedestrian, etc. Photoshop is very powerful and is usualy mutually exclusive to Aperture (iPhoto).
If I were you, I'd start with iPhoto (which comes part of your mac by default) and then get Photoshop and then if you are really feeling like you need more from your photo organizer go to Aperture.
Enjoy.
